Total dissatisfaction of the car buying experience

CX21ZPM SKODA OCTAVIA HYBRID ESTATE Gear selector fault Rear right brake grinding and scored 1 key not working Container of fuel added yet zero miles I took delivery of the car on the Friday 15th December I did swerve the extra 3 year warranty at £1900 and I'm so glad I did because these jokers are absolutely the worst ! I was told both keys worked and a canister of fuel had been put in the car. On leaving the showroom the car read zero miles of petrol and zero miles of electric, but I did get to the fuel station. The brakes did sound very bad but I didn't know if this was what a hybrid was supposed to sound like. I woke next morning and had a look at the brake discs, looking through the wheel spokes , 3 were OK, one was badly scored and it was clear that the noise I could hear was a worn out brake pad grinding on the disk. It was at that point I found that only one key worked and a fault warning was on the dashboard of an overheating gearbox (upon startup) I tool the car back to the showroom on the saturday 16th December to be told no-one there could help me , i asked to see a manager and she changed the battery on the key and told me she would book the car in on monday and provide me with a courtesy car, and she would ring to confirm on Monday 18th December She never called. I did manage to get through to aftersales on the 12th attempt , the previous 11 attempts resulted in the phone line disconnecting before being answered, and a call to the only line in service, sales, Georgie, who was worse than useless refusing to help or connect me with anyone of any help , however on the 12th attempt to get in touch with after sales the phone did connect, and the person I spoke with was quite frankly rude and unhelpful. She told me to drive the car to kwik fit for a free brake check, but would not autorise any repairs if they were needed. So I travelled to the Leeds showroom after work and there I encountered no help either. I couldn't leave my car with them I couldn't leave my keys with them They wouldn't inspect the car And if I left the car on site , they couldn't be liable for its safe keeping , and no , they had no idea which manager I had spoken to on Saturday that had promised to get this mess sorted out. As the car not only has a metal to metal brake issue and also a gearbox issue , I consider the car undriveable, and had the vehicle recovered under the warranty in the interests of safety to my home address as the site could not guarantee the safety of my car to be roadworthy ,and not guarantee the safety of the car if left on site. I phoned after sales again today and asked them to book the car on under warranty for the repairs, yes of course, we could get you in on the 2nd January.(14 days away) WHAT ? what am I supposed to do over Christmas with no car , I'm terribly sorry sir there's nothing we can do. We are now in a position that I have no choice but to consider this car to be unfit for purpose and reject it on the grounds of safety. I have given big motoring world every opportunity to rectify these issues and now consider our transaction to be unrecoverable Now I wait for the next stage with an undriveable car and they have my money.lets see how long it takes to unwind this transaction , they say 2 weeks but ...

If you paid on finance go to the finance company and inform them you are rejecting the car they will do this all for you, if you paid by credit card or direct debit go to your bank and start the chargescheme this has to be within 120 days since transaction, I hope you get back what you deserve these idiots are cowboys, they’ve done the exact same to us.

Total scamming clowns . Bought a car within 20 mins the car faulted with a TPMS malfunction the time I picked the car up on a Sunday they was closed so I called the next day and logged my complaint about the fault . Took 2 weeks for them to contact me back with another 2-3 weeks worth of battling back and fourth emails telling me I need to take 2 days off work to take the car for diagnosis and repair which I explained I cant do with my job . I asked for a courtesy car got told no they dont have any until 2024 . I sent an email over a week ago and Ive been ignored I called over a week ago and requested a call back and been ignored . I was told I need to pay for the repair and claim my money back from big motoring world . I also complained about a vibration from the rear of the car (tyre balancing) . I already knew what the fault was with the TPMS system as Im a mechanic so after nearly 5 weeks of battling back and fourth and getting nowhere Ive had to layout £85 on genuine sensors , code them and balance the tyres as the tyres big-motoring world had fitted wasnt even balanced . If you want to get technical about things i was left to drive around in a car for 5 weeks with the car not having the now (legal requirement) system active and working on my car . Also all the sensors that was fitted to the car was faulty and non genuine so how did that pass a legit MOT ? With a tyre pressure warning message on the dash ? As the MOT testers are not allowed to reset dash lights ?? Edit : as I cant respond to the below reply . Clearly you cant see that I have stated I have now since repaired the car myself (as Im a mechanic) and hes Im in talks with an aftersales manager which clearly isnt going to resolved so thats fine il carry my review on to the likes of Twitter and Google . Also have now been reported to trading standards Lee

They push for reviews on purchase. However cars are very poor after sale The only reason they get so many 5 star reviews is because of the salespeople have a tactic to get you to review before you have even concluded the sale. They do this by acting friendly just asking if you could help them meet their monthly quota for reviews. They ask of you to write a 5 star review with their name. This bumps up the reviews of the whole place and masks the true reviews after dealing with aftersales. Im 19 years old and spend a lot of my money buying a 2017 jaguar xe for starting a new job. This car had its service light cleared before I bought it, however after inspection when the engine blew the oil had not been changed for 60,000 miles and all the filters where original parts dating from when the car rolled out of factory Tried to bring this up to them and have been hushed to the side and ignored. This is now an ongoing legal issue that is costing me time and money. Do not buy from big motoring world, the horror stories are true. (Further edit) I have contacted big assist a few times now and even been into the after sales building. They listened to what I had to say said they would send out an independent company to inspect the car and have not contacted me since, I have been waiting for contact from B.I.G but have had nothing. I have even sent a letter that trading standards made for me after they sided with me after seeing the evidence themselves. This letter was tracked and signed for. No reply since This company is known for having a shady way of selling and the more I find out about it the worse. After speaking to a few people close the owner of the business, I cant say the people close to him are even fond of him. Shady company, shady service ran by a shady owner.

Nob off. I agree with the review. Libel case my ***

Who cares what replaceable employees think of the boss ? Obviously you have never owned a business complete with a workforce ; many of them hate you the first day just because you are the boss / owner / whatever.

Petty jealousy and malcontent people. You (boss) spend hours and sleepless nights concerned about that business only to find yourself unjustly badmouthed by ignorant schlumps who don't know 1/3 of what you do and don't have the knowledge or fortitude to be forthcoming.

Don't pass along hearsay as fact just because it suits your attitude. You have committed a possible libel case.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY Whilst they have a friendly team and a range of cars, they damaged my car after I purchase it and it went into the garage for their paint protection service. The windscreen was damaged to the point it is a MOT failure. They are refusing to take responsibility, refusing to pay the £1300 in repair fees and keep fobbing me off with outright lies. Their after car is diabolical and I will NEVER EVER purchase a car from them again.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Absolutely nightmare stay miles away do not buy car from them I just bought a car from them having issues getting to after sale team is not a nightmare again they're not interested to answer your call after you buy your car from yes if you call the sale team they'll answer your in matters of seconds because they want to sell you their rubbish cars. I've been calling all day After trying several times and on hold forever I managed to speak to somebody I was asked to wait for 48 hours before someone calls me i have a serious safety issue with car they don't care about your safety all they want is your money. I asked for manager can't put you through typical excuses. I will never, ever go back to them again and I am returning the car I do not recommend buying a car from them unless you have all time in the world chasing them forever and you don't care your safty then you can go any buy from them. Plus pay attention you may get ripped off Like me. They were pushing me to buy GARDX for car paint protection. I refused to buy one then they came up with an offer for £98.00 only I decided to buy it for £98.00 later when I checked I was charged £665.00 for GARDX.

Engine failure under 1 year

AVOID AVOID AVOID Dealing with Big Motoring World has been one of the worst decisions of my life. Purchased a Jaguar F Pace vehicle for approximately £26K, via loan to accommodate my family. I took good care of my vehicle and maintained it under a Jaguar service plan. However, the car engine became faulty just shy of 1 year, without any warning! Jaguar have quoted £13K for a new engine, due to an underlying crankshaft and bearing issue. I contacted the warranty company, (also sold via Big Motoring World) and they have been equally useless and stressful. First the warranty company declined my case, until I appealed it and paid a private car assessor £360 who heavily contradicted their false claims. The warranty company then accepted my appeal, but only to pay £1000 towards the repair bill, despite informing me at the start that in extenuating circumstances they would pay for the FULL repairs. They then denied informing me that they would ever pay for the full repairs, and shadily declined to divulge call recordings stating so. I then proceeded back to Big Motoring World and they initially agreed to repair the vehicle at a repair centre- which left me absolutely elated. They asked for my details and warranty information and begun scheduling the repair at my nearest centre. However due to some twist of fate, at the last minute they retracted this decision, stating I should go back to the warranty company and they have completely left me in the lurch. Both Big Motoring World and Warranties 2000 have had a dire effect on my mental health and finances. I am currently paying a loan with interest but have no car, plus I cannot afford the 13K repair bill, and I am now left helpless. I am self-employed without an adequate vehicle to commute, my wife and kids have no vehicle for travel purposes, and I am struggling to take my family member suffering with cancer to medical appointments. Please do not be fooled in to buying from Big Motoring World, nor using their third party company- Warranties 2000, they are liars and crooks. Once they have your money they will offer little to no support in helping you, plus they have no compassion with their service and aftercare. Dealing with these companies has been the worst financial decision of my life. I am now having to proceed to the ombudsman and/or court, which will incur further stress and money. Do you honestly think it is fair that after a consumer pays £26K on a vehicle, that the engine should fail and be deemed unroadworthy within less than 1 year, without warning!?!

GJ17REU / G1KDB Faulty Vehicle

VW Tiguan GJ17 REU (now on private plate G1 KDB) Mr Kevin Betts On the 14/10/2023 I purchased and took delivery of the above vehicle VW Tiguan TSI 4motion GJ17 REU (now on private registration G1 KDB). On the same date I noticed water leaking from sunroof switches and the car starting to smell damp. The fault being found was the sunroof drain blocked with mildew. On the 15/10/2023 I had the engine management light come on which I reported through the big assist warranty app and was told to take to a local Halfords which was unable to book the vehicle in until November. After a while the light went off and came back sporadically. On the 15/12/2023 the EML returned and the engine started to overheat, reported the fault again to Big assist warranty through the app and was told to take to a local garage (not a main dealer) for diagnostics and for them to contact/report to big assist warranty for permission to repair. I was contacted on 5/1/2024 by email that the vehicle could only be repaired at a big motoring repair Center and you transported the vehicle to your Leeds Centre. The vw has had numerous repairs completed although I do not have a full report of the repairs done. I was then informed that the vehicle wiring was found damaged after a road test and in need of repair and that the damage was caused by mice and that I would have to have the repairs done as Big motoring world would not repair the damage. I therefore claim that the vehicle was not in satisfactory condition on the day of sale. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires dealers to supply goods that are fit for purpose, as described and of satisfactory Quality. However, the vehicle is clearly not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose. You are therefore in breach of contract. I am legally entitled to reject the vehicle and to be reimbursed the original purchase price. I look forward to receiving a payment within 14 days. If you fail to reimburse me I shall have no alternative but to issue a claim against you in the county court for the recovery of the money without further reference to you. It is my intention that no verbal conversation will change my decision to require a refund. A written document is required to alter my request. I look forward to hearing from you after you have had to opportunity to review my letter. Please note that the Consumer Rights Act requires that the refund is provided without undue delay. Your faithfully Mr K Betts

This happened Friday evening, spend one night next to the car freezing as they kept saying they will, they will come the recovery Team..and still Im affected big time. Theyre not open over the weekend, No one will be there to help you in having the car taken to the garage and give you a qourtesy car. I have all waranty and packages in place and agreed and upon selling staff to you, they will say that whatever you are uk or europe, they have service in place and fix everything at anytime 24/7, guess what. Im here in Uk and this isnt the case. Lies and yet I have accepted all packages costs et. No I dont have car, my business is affected, cannot travel. Miss sold item and poor after sales support

I Recently bought my car from big motoring world Peterborough branch. Staff (applied) washed my car with something called GuardX costing £800 without giving me the right information and I was told this is not refundable after it has already been applied to the car. Heating in the car was also faulty. It ook the team over a week for the after-sales team to contact me and this was after I wrote a complaint letter. The problem has still not been resolved and I lost £800. I will not recommend big motoring world as the customer service is poor and also you dont get warranty on purchased vehicle. Once you drive out from there you're on your own.

False information published about the car I have purchased

I have purchased a BMW X2, and it was published online with the feature of Apple car play. Couple of days after the purchase, I have found out this feature wasn't there. Called BMW & they have confirmed that this car hasn't got Apple car play. How disappointing. How can a company like Big motoring world give false information to sell a car. The main reason I have chosen this car was Apple car play. Also, a couple of other faults hasn't been rectified before collection. When I have called them, advised to call after care. This is disgusting.
